How to Fix Brave Browser Auto Backup Issues?

Problem Description

When using Brave browser for data synchronization, the "Auto Backup" function encounters errors and cannot complete the automatic backup process normally.

Root Cause Analysis

This issue is caused by Brave browser's default security settings. To protect user privacy and security, Brave disables the File System Access API by default, which affects Dessix's automatic backup functionality.

Solution

Enable File System Access API

Please follow these steps:

  1. Open Brave Browser
  2. Access Settings Page: Enter brave://flags/#file-system-access-api in the address bar
  3. Enable API: Set the File System Access API to Enabled status

  1. Restart Browser: Restart Brave browser after completing the settings to make them take effect

Important Notes

  • After enabling this setting, Dessix will be able to use the automatic backup function normally
  • This setting only affects file system access permissions and does not reduce the browser's overall security
  • If the problem persists, please check if your browser version is up to date
